Winchester 7: For this tune, I returned to the open C tuning that I had abandoned in pursuit of "Jackpot Baby". With distortion and some open string dissonance added into its newest arrangement, I brought the working version to Phil and Jack for their feedback. Phil quickly developed an octave rooted riff that helped give life to the verse while Jack contributed a drum part that was heavy on cymbals to further grow our cacophony of sound.

With our respective tracks recorded, I focused on developing lyrics for what, to that point, was still an untitled work. For this song, the first two verses came together rather quickly and served to point the way for what turned out to be a song about remakes.

Finally, with our raw mix complete, we again sought out the help of our favorite mix engineer, Brendan Woodruff, to help tighten things up, balance, and manage post-production effects. We last worked with him on Cherry Cheesecake and On Carriage Parkway and, in the interim, missed the difference of his added touch.

We hope that you like Redux Rock!

lyrics

Any way you shake it
You know they're gonna make it
and everything will turn out fine

There's no other way to take it
Better to remake it
Things come back in style

But, you know, If I had my way
they all would blow my mind
Oh, Lord, how hard I pray
the stars they will align

Let's do the Redux Rock

In a galaxy far away
In a world running out of time
Heroes for us today
Yesterday commercialized

Any way you play it
You know they're gonna say it
was the best in quite a while

'cause the greatest is the latest
It's what all the rage is
and it's gonna make the miracle mile

Revised to modern tastes
the records it will break
shall never be denied

There's no other way to take it
Better to remake it
Things come back in style

But Lord, If I had my way
they all would blow my mind
Oh, you know, how hard I pray
the stars they will align

Let's do the Redux
Let's do the Redux
Let's do the Redux Rock

Let's do the Redux
I wanna do the Redux
Let's do the Redux Rock
