In Shadows Of Tomorrow

from Beyond the Dome by Winchester 7 & the Runners

/

about

Winchester 7: It is commonly believed that when John Lennon wrote the chorus to "Cry Baby Cry", he was influenced by the nursery rhyme, "Sing a Song of Sixpence" for the structure of its verse. For this song's chorus, we were influenced by them both...though more certainly the latter.

For the video, we attended Washington DC's cherry blossom festival and shot some footage while touring the area. We also included some digital captures from old family films and a shot of my great-grandmother's clock.

Other points of fact include:
- The tapping in the introduction is Jack playing an empty Heineken bottle that has been put onto a tom rack
- The ocean footage is from Bermuda circa 1976.
- The album version includes an extended coda which was, here, cut for length. It includes a sample of an old cassette recording of a radio announcer that I had laying around.

We hope that you enjoy. Thank you.

lyrics

In all my dreams we've finally made
the best days of our lives
And in every passing moment
we do realize
All that is was borrowed from
deep inside our minds
And in shadows of tomorrow
we will find...

Chorus:
The King has lost his scepter and
the jester's gone away
The Queen she subtly smiles as
the Duchess eats some cake
The Duke is busy trolling under
clever sobriquet
And the sun will rise and fall another day

In all our lives we seek to hide
the love we keep inside
And in solitary moments
we do realize
All that is has come before
in another time
And in shadows of tomorrow
we will find...

Chorus
