Dance Little Dancer

about

Winchester 7: We're on the road quite a bit. While forever appreciative of our fans; we do, on occassion, get a bit homesick.

I set about writing this song with that thought in mind. In it, I try to relate to my daughter (M.M.) some of my experience of being away, the perspective that it's not indefinite, and a small dose of fatherly guidance for good measure.

Phil's backing vocal added harmony while Jack layered on maracas to complement his ride cymbal to help bring together the chorus.

Finally, we decided to finish the track with the trailing sound of a Tibetan singing bowl in lieu of a traditional fade-out.

We hope that you enjoy it. Thank you and thank you, Seattle.

lyrics

When I'm on my way
my feet don't touch the ground
With my head in the clouds
all my dreams are found

On to tomorrow
and beyond its setting sun
Forever's only a word
for time that never comes

So, Dance little dancer
your answer's in your heart
Throw your head back and shout,
"Today is how it starts"
Dance little dancer
for living is an art
and wherever we are
we'll never be apart

From within these walls
I know not where I am
Everything's moved
and the skies have changed again

On to tomorrow
and beyond its waning moon
Ever after's a wish
we all hope will come soon

So, Dance little dancer
your answer's in your soul
Throw your head back and shout,
"Today, we will be bold"
Dance little dancer
for living is an art
and together we shall
never be apart
